Recent reorganization in Dangote Refinery aimed at preventing intermittent case of sabotage – Management
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has said that the recent reorganization in the company, which led to the sacking of some workers, was aimed at preventing intermittent case of sabotage.
It also refuted claims that the exercise was arbitrary; adding that it was carried out to address safety concerns and boosts operational efficiency.
The management of vthe refinery also explained that while over 3,000 Nigerians continue to work actively in the refinery, at present, only a very small number of staff members were affected.
Meanwhile, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASAN has expressed displeasure over what it described as the anti-labour practices perpetuated by Dangote Refinery.
PENGASAN, in a statement signed by its general secretary, Lomumba Okubawa accused the private refinery of unjustly terminating the employment of over 800 Nigerian workers.
It said that the termination not only undermined the livelihoods of the citizens, but also raised serious concerns about the integrity of labour practices and compliance with the Labour Act of Nigeria.
