Borno Commissioner Presents Anambra Health Worker, Son with House, Appointment Letters

In compliance with the directive of Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Technology and Innovation, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe has presented a personal allocation letter for a housing unit to Mrs. Mabel Ijeoma Duaka, a health worker from Anambra state.

Zulum on Wednesday, directed that the letter of allocation for Mrs Ijeoma be changed from institutional to a personal, because of her selfless service to Borno and Mafa local government having served for more than two decades.

At a brief ceremony at the ministry of education conference hall, Musa Usman Secretariat on Friday, Engr. Wakilbe also presented an appointment letter to her son, Mr. Abraham Stephen as graduate assistant at Kashim Ibrahim University.

“Recall that on 7th October, 2025 while inaugurating the Teachers’ quarters in Mafa, His Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum made a pronouncement that a health worker, Mrs Mabel Ijeoma Duaka, working in Primary Healthcare Center, Mafa, be given personal allocation of one unit of two-bedroom teachers’ quarters and her son be employed in Kashim Ibrahim University,” Wakilbe said.

“In full compliance with the directive of His Excellency, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, it is my singular honor and privilege to present the allocation letter of the two-bedroom house, House No. 003 phase 1 teachers’ quarters Mafa to Madam Mabel Ijeoma Duaka,” he announced.

“Her son Abraham had second class upper in Banking and Finance, in compliance with the governor’s directive, the Kashim Ibrahim university has given him automatic employment as an academic staff in the university,”.

In her response, Mrs. Mabel Duaka thanked Governor Zulum for the gesture, describing his governance style as inclusive.

“I want to once again thank the Governor, the great governor has really touched my life. My son graduated four years ago with nothing doing, suddenly, Governor Zulum employed him, I am short of words. I promised you that my son will do his work more better, he will not let you down,” Mabel said.

The event was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the Registrar of Kashim Ibrahim University, Maiduguri, and several Directors from both the Ministry and the University.
