The Kebbi State Government has issued an urgent appeal for assistance following severe flooding that has claimed 29 lives and caused widespread destruction.

The disaster has resulted in the loss of 329,000 homes and 858,000 hectares of farmland, affecting key crops like rice, millet, sorghum, and beans.

At a press briefing held in Birnin Kebbi, the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Birnin Kebbi, detailed the scale of the devastation, noting that the disaster has overwhelmed the government despite its efforts to mitigate the impact on affected communities.
