Vice President Shettima opened Bauchi Investment Summit, Urges Citizens to Embrace Patriotism

– Sultan of Sokoto called for addressing of insecurity

Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has opened a two-day Bauchi State Investment Summit with a passionate call on citizens to rekindle their love for the country and work collectively toward national progress.
Speaking at the newly commissioned Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre in Bauchi on Wednesday, the Vice President emphasized that patriotism remains the foundation for sustainable development, noting that no nation can thrive without the active support of its people.
Shettima assured both local and foreign investors of the enormous economic potential in Bauchi State and the wider Northern region. He said the Federal Government is committed to creating a secure and business-friendly environment that will allow investments to flourish, boost job creation and stimulate inclusive growth.
The Vice President further described Bauchi as a land of opportunities, stressing that the summit provides a unique platform for harnessing the state’s agricultural, mineral, and tourism resources for national prosperity.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his visionary leadership and for positioning Bauchi as a key investment destination in Northern Nigeria.
In his goodwill message, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, called for a comprehensive and collective approach to addressing insecurity in Northern Nigeria.
He explained that peace and stability are critical ingredients for meaningful investment and economic development.
The revered traditional leader urged governments at all levels, community leaders, and citizens to work hand in hand to restore lasting peace, noting that the region’s full potential can only be realized in a secure environment.
Welcoming dignitaries and participants, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed delight over the presence of investors, diplomats, and business leaders at the historic summit. He declared that Bauchi is fully prepared to partner with both local and international stakeholders to unlock the state’s economic prospects.
The governor highlighted the strategic importance of the Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre, describing it as a symbol of Bauchi’s readiness to host global engagements.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the right infrastructure, policies, and incentives to make Bauchi a hub for investment and innovation.
The summit attracted a distinguished audience, including top government officials, traditional rulers, business leaders, development partners, and diplomats from countries such as China, Turkey, Serbia, and Tunisia. Their presence underscored the growing interest in Bauchi as an emerging economic destination and a strategic player in Nigeria’s development landscape.
