The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the admission of 30-year-old Abdullahi Mohammed to the Yola Psychiatric Hospital after a dramatic incident in Mayo-Belwa, where he climbed a 33kV high-tension electricity pole.

According to the police, Mohammed’s unusual act was tied to a demand for the resignation of President Bola Tinubu.
The incident, which occurred last Friday morning along the Yola-Jalingo highway, left many onlookers in shock as Mohammed insisted that he would not descend from the pole unless President Tinubu stepped down. The standoff persisted throughout the day, until the police, with the assistance of local residents, successfully convinced him to come down on Saturday night.
