*Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) Council Chairman Inaugurated*

Abuja, Nigeria – February 5, 2026

The Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, alongside the Honourable Minister of State, today inaugurated Hon. Yahuza Ado Inuwa as Chairman of the Standards Council of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).

In his inaugural remarks, the Chairman expressed deep gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the trust and confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work closely with the Ministers and the leadership of SON to advance the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, strengthen Nigeria’s industrial base, and promote Made‑in‑Nigeria products.

The Chairman affirmed his commitment to collaborative leadership, modernization, and enforcement of standards. He emphasized that SON will continue to safeguard lives, protect consumers, and ensure Nigerian products meet global competitiveness benchmarks. He further assured SON staff of his dedication to their welfare, promising to work towards improved conditions of service and enhanced motivation.

“Standards are the silent architects of trust. They protect lives, ensure quality, drive industrialization, open doors to international trade, and build national pride,” the Chairman declared.

The inauguration marks the beginning of a new era for SON, with renewed focus on digital transformation, stakeholder collaboration, and alignment with international standards to boost Nigeria’s exports and economic revival.
