2027: Doguwa Says North Has a Responsibility to Support Tinubu
Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa (OON), Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) and Sardaunan Ƙasar Hausa Mai Tuta, has called on people in Northern Nigeria to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Doguwa said the North has a moral responsibility to reciprocate the political support the South gave to former President Muhammadu Buhari, who served two terms in office.
Doguwa, who represents Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in Kano State, also urged Northerners to support other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections.
Doguwa Calls for Northern Unity
Doguwa stressed the importance of unity among Northerners in supporting Tinubu, linking his position to the need to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding among Nigeria’s diverse communities.
He reportedly made the remarks on Saturday during a visit by APC members and other political stakeholders from Doguwa Federal Constituency to his residence in Kaduna.
The visit comes as political parties and stakeholders intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Doguwa’s Position on the 2027 Election
Doguwa’s comments reflect his support for Tinubu’s re-election bid and his call for greater political unity among APC supporters in the North.
As the 2027 elections approach, Nigerians will have the opportunity to assess the candidates, their policies and their records before deciding whom to support at the polls
