WAIYA PERFORMS THE OFFICIAL INAUGURATION OF TINUBU/ABBA GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION ASSOCIATION, PRESENTS APPOINTMENT LETTERS TO PATRONS AND RECEIVES SPECIAL RECOGNITION
The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has performed the official inauguration of the Tinubu/Abba Grassroots Mobilization Association, Kano State, at a ceremony held at the Sa’adu Zungur Hall, Mambayya House, Gwammaja, Kano.
The Association, under the leadership of its Chairman, Alhaji Naziru Zakari Sheka, brought together former elected Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and elected Councillors who served, over the last 28 years ago in the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State.
The categories of the members, included former elected councillors, vice chairmen as well as chairmen who served between 1997 and 1998 during the administration of the then Head of State, General Sani Abacha, came together to form this laudable group, representing grassroots communities, with political experince, network and community connectivity, who would certainly help in advancing the objectives of the Association.
The inauguration brought together political stakeholders, grassroots mobilisers, former elected councillors, community representatives and supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Speaking at the occasion, Comrade Waiya commended the leadership and members of the Association for establishing a platform capable of reconnecting experienced political actors with the grassroots, describing their wealth of political and community experience as a valuable asset for effective mobilization and communication.
He noted that beyond political mobilization, the Association has an important role to play in public relations, grassroots communication and public enlightenment, particularly by creating a stronger link between government, political structures and citizens at the ward and local government levels.
The Commissioner charged members to utilise their grassroots networks to communicate government policies, programmes and achievements to the people, while also listening to the concerns and aspirations of citizens and ensuring that such concerns are appropriately communicated to relevant authorities.
Comrade Waiya further described the association as a political support group committed to mobilising grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, stressing that achieving such an objective requires an organised, disciplined and people-oriented grassroots structure.
He urged members to work across the 44 Local Government Areas with unity of purpose, promoting the achievements and development programmes of the administration while engaging citizens respectfully and responsibly.
The Commissioner emphasized that effective political mobilization should go beyond rallies and political gatherings, stressing that consistent grassroots engagement, public communication, community outreach and direct interaction with the people remain essential to building lasting political support.
As part of the ceremony, appointment letters of patrins were formally presented to some prominent personalities, marking the commencement of their respective responsibilities within at the grassroots
In recognition of his support and contribution to grassroots mobilization and public service, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya was also presented with a special recognition of excellence award by the Association.
The Commissioner expressed appreciation for the recognition and assured the association of his continued support for initiatives that strengthen public relations, effective communication, grassroots engagement and responsible political participation.
He urged the newly appointed officials and members to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, discipline and integrity, while remaining committed to the collective objective of strengthening the political base of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf across Kano State.
The Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Naziru Zakari Sheka, and other leaders of the organisation expressed their commitment to building a formidable grassroots structure across the 44 Local Government Areas and ensuring an effective mobilization and engagement with the people.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment by the Association to strengthen grassroots mobilization, expand political and public communication, and work towards securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in the 2027 general election
