KHADIJA ISAH THE 9 YEAR OLD VICTIM OF BRUTAL RAPE GOT JUSTICE .
Yesterday the 8th day of April 2026, I appeared before High Court No. 6 sitting at Birnin-kudu Jigawa State to receive the judgement delivered by the court in the case between State vs Bashir A. Umar who was charged for the rape of a 9 year old Khadija Isah from Galamawa Dutse.
It could be recalled that this case came to light early 2025 and the Government of Jigawa State under the leadership of His Excellency Malam Umar Namadi FCA immediately swung into action. While the culprit was charged to court,the victim who suffered a severe physical and mental injury as a result was given medical treatment and rehabilitated by Government, including the relocation of the girl’s family to a well furnished 3-Bedroom House in Duste jointly funded by Her Excellency,the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senetor Remi Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Her Excellency the First Lady of Jigawa State Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi.
In an erudite judgement delivered by Justice Musa Ubale , His Lordship found the Defendant guilty for both count of rape and causing grevious bodily harm; convicted and sentenced him to Life Improsonment and 7 years respectively.He was also ordered to pay compensation of One Million Naira to the victim in addition to an Order directing the Ministry of Justice to ensure that his name is entered on the Naming and Shaming Registrar of Sexual Offenders of the State.
